Range is our school. We come here to learn – So:
- We arrive for lessons on time
- We wear the school uniform as expected
- We have the correct equipment for lessons
- We bring in homework on the appropriate day
- We participate actively in lessons and focus on our work
- We follow instructions from an adult without argument
- Mobile phones are not seen or heard during the school day
- We move around the school safely and considerately, without carrying food or drink or listening to music
- We observe the one-way system
- We use the toilet, visit our lockers and fill water bottles before the lesson
- We drink only water or drinks purchased from the canteen, these are naturally flavored sparkling water drinks
At the beginning and end of lessons:
- Pupils line up outside the classroom in single file
- Pupils go into lesson with correct uniform
- Pupils put expected equipment on desk
- Pupils stand behind chairs at the end of the lesson
- Pupils leave with correct uniform
Three strikes system for poor behaviour in class:
- Strike 1 – the pupil will be given a clear verbal warning and name on the board – the teacher will tell pupils how they expect them to behave
- Strike 2 – the pupil will be given a second verbal warning and tick against name on the board
- Strike 3 – the pupil will be directed to leave the classroom for a short time – a CONDUCT DETENTION WILL BE GIVEN
- Strike 4 – On Call will be utilised and the child may be removed and a school detention may follow
Detention System
Equipment, uniform and conduct detention:

- Will be held Mon to Wed and Fri lunchtime 12:30pm – 12.45pm in year zone
Lates detention:

- Will be held each evening after school, 3.20pm to 4.00pm in Room 1
After School detention:
-
- Will be held every Tuesday after school, 3.20pm to 4.20pm in year zone
Headteacher’s detention:

- Will be held every week 2 Friday after school, 2.20pm to 3.20pm in Room 65
Failure to attend a school detentions may result in an internal exclusion.
In Registration
- We should arrive to Registration for 8.50am at the latest
- We should sit on a chair and face the front when we are in Registration
- All chairs should be taken down off desks
- We should take any outdoor coats off
- We should answer the register when our name is called out
- We should listen to any notices that are read to the whole class, regardless of whether they apply to others in the room
- We should make sure our uniform is correct; any ties on correctly and shirts tucked in
- The Form Tutor will deal with uniform issues and give out a Pass to show it is being dealt with
- No one should have any jewellery (one pair of stud earrings is allowed), make-up, false nails, false eyelashes or nail varnish on – they will be asked to remove it
- If there have been any issues in or around school, we should speak with our tutor during these times
Break Time
Pupils may:

- Remain indoors and “lap” the one-way system
- Go to their locker
- Go to the toilet
- Go to the Dining Area to buy food
- Top up their account for lunch
- Queue for food at Counter 1
- Take any food purchased to the picnic area
- Y11 may sit and socialise in the alcoves in the Dining Area
- Y12 and Y13 can purchase food in the Sixth Form Common Room
Pupils may not:
- sit in classrooms unattended
- eat food anywhere in the school building if in Y7-Y10
- Drink fizzy, sugary or energy drinks or chew gum anywhere in school
Lunch Time
- The front of the school is out of bounds
- Pupils must have a pass to enter lunch early
- Pupils must have a pass to leave the premises (and to go home only)
- Pupils may not take hot meals out of the Dining Area. Hot baguettes and paninis/pizza slices are permissible.
- There is no entry at lunchtime through the Sports Hall Doors to the Art Theatre Doors
