Subject Information

The department aims to:

  • To provide a broad and balanced ‘business-related’ curriculum which engages and excites our cohort
  • To ensure that our curriculum meets the needs of all our students, considering a wide variety of academic capabilities and learning styles
  • To ensure that teaching and learning activities are always appropriate to the syllabus being followed, using strategies to make this syllabus readily accessible to all our students.  This includes application of the theory to embed knowledge through use of topical examples and practical activities.
  • To set high expectations for our students in terms of attainment and behaviour and to encourage students to aim to meet these expectations within all areas of their studies
  • To maintain consistent standards within our expectations for class work, homework and assessment, led by the departmental and by the whole-school guidance and procedures that are in place.
  • Provide a positive working environment that is well resourced and stimulating that encourages student’s creativity to allow them to flourish
