School Gateway

Communicating with parents is an important part of what we do, making sure you get the correct information about activities, events and things that really matter is something we care about.

We use School Gateway, a service used by over 3,000 schools across the UK to communicate with parents/carers via email and text message.  School Gateway will be beneficial to you because:

• Messages will get to you reliably and on time
• We can send messages directly to contacts with parental responsibility
• Emergency or important information can be sent by text message
• Your contact details and address can be viewed on the School Gateway app
• iPhone/Android App available for receiving text messages.

We would encourage you to download the School Gateway app which allows you to respond within the app to absence texts, and also shows useful links to our school website, parents’ evening system and Twitter account.

The app can be downloaded by clicking on the App Store or Google Play link at the bottom of this message, or by following these simple instructions:

1. Search for “School Gateway” in the Apple App Store/Google Play

2. Install the app and if you are asked then say yes to “Allow Push Notifications”

3. When you launch School Gateway for the first time, please select ‘New User’ / ‘Sign up’ and enter the email address and mobile telephone number you have registered with the school

4. The system will send a PIN code to your phone; please enter this PIN code and the app will be activated for you. (Please make a note of this PIN code, you will need it if you need to login again)

As soon as you’ve got the system set-up, all of the text messages we send you will appear in the app; you’ll receive notifications/alerts as normal. Emails will be received in your personal email inbox and do not show in the app.

ParentPay

If you haven’t yet used ParentPay please contact Mrs Gordon (Monday – Thursday) on 01704 835614 for your login details.  All new Y7 pupils will receive a letter during the summer holiday before they start school with their login details.

ParentPay helps schools reduce administration, manage payments and improve efficiency.

ParentPay makes collecting money for school items quicker and more efficient. It creates a secure online audit trail that allows schools to provide financial information and access detailed breakdowns quickly and accurately and allows parents to see at a glance their child’s account e.g. school meal balance, current trips etc.  It also reduces the risk of cash/cheques being lost or misplaced.

ParentPay makes collecting dinner money easy:

• Payments are automated and visible
• Payment reminders and alerts are sent directly to parents
• ParentPay increases take-up of free school meals and promotes social inclusion – eligible children are no longer differentiated from other pupils.

We also accept payments for:
